The Tivo Cachecard allows you to hook your TiVo up to your network. This allows daily updates over broadband instead of the telephone, easier hacking, TiVoWEB etc.
It also allows you to transfer (or stream) recordings over your network to your PC
for archiving onto DVD.
You can also set recordings remotely via your PC or the internet!
There are two models currently available:
The turbonet network card, and the cachecard which also speeds up tivo operations on tivos with larger hard drives.
All our preconfigured drives have drivers for the turbonet pre-installed, so this is the easiest upgrade if you have one of our drives already.
The CacheCard is both a network card and a speedup card, it comes with 512MB of RAM installed, which will speed up many operations on tivo, especially those with large hard drives and many recorded shows.

You can still use a cachecard with a Powerline Homeplug - enables you to use a cachecard even if your router is in another room !
Simply plug one into the mains by the tivo and another by the router.
